    Our client is an independent, financially sound, & growing E&P operating company and they are seeking a Regulatory Specialist to support oil and gas exploration and production activities by ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is vital to managing permits, reporting, and regulatory relationships while guiding internal teams on environmental and operational compliance best practices. This privately held company is managed by a dynamic, entrepreneurially driven leadership team and highly values and rewards each team member for their contributions w/ emphasis on entrepreneurial ideas & teamwork.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage regulatory filings, drilling permits, and production reports across multiple states (e.g., TX, OK, LA).
    • Ensure compliance with EPA regulations and state-specific standards, including Texas RRC.
    • Interface with government agencies and maintain strong regulatory relationships.
    • Conduct internal audits and inspections to assess compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
    • Support engineering, HSE, and operations teams on regulatory procedures and implementation.
    • Monitor changes in regulatory policy and advise on compliance strategy.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking systems for audits and reporting.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in upstream oil & gas.
    • Strong knowledge of EPA and state-level regulations (e.g., RRC).
    • Knowledge of air emissions and methane regulation and proven experience with permitting, compliance reporting, and emissions monitoring
    • Familiarity with East Texas land use, water rights, and environmental permitting.
