Position Summary
CareFlite is seeking a highly skilled Air Transport Paramedic to provide advanced life support and critical care during air, ground, and ECMO specialty transport operations. This role is responsible for patient assessment, advanced interventions, and ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transport across our service area.
This position is ideal for experienced paramedics who excel in high-acuity environments and are committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced life support and critical care during air, ground, and specialty transports
- Assess patient conditions and perform advanced medical interventions within scope of practice
- Collaborate with nurses, pilots, dispatchers, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely patient documentation
- Adhere to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards
- Demonstrate strong situational awareness in dynamic transport environments
- Participate in continuous education and quality improvement initiatives
Work Schedule & Environment
- Schedule: 24 hours on / 72 hours off, including holidays (365-day operations)
- Overtime: May be required based on mission demand, emergencies, or staffing needs
- Environment: Aircraft, ground ambulances, specialty vehicles, hospitals, and outdoor settings
* Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, confined spaces, and operational hazards
* Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Travel: Frequent travel within the assigned service area; occasional overnight stays
- On-Call: Participation in on-call rotation with required response times
- Special Requirements: Ongoing compliance with licensure, certifications, annual competencies, and required training
