    Support the specification, development, and release to production of tooling for the manufacture, transportation or testing of aircraft parts, components or assemblies within the Airbus Final Assembly Line USA.

    Location: Mobile, Al

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - SUMMARIZE, AS BRIEFLY AS POSSIBLE, THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (5 TO 7) THE JOBHOLDER HAS TO FULFILL):

    • Technical data gathering and research: 25%
      • Support jigs & tools engineer in assessment/data gathering of as-is situation.
      • Act as deputy to jigs & tools engineer in tooling activity support.
    • Specification Development Support: 25%
      • Contribute to creation of technical specification for tooling solution.
    • Implementation/Acceptance Activity Support: 25%
      • Support tooling supplier activities on site.
      • Support/lead acceptance activities.
    • Special Projects: 25%

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Support other tasks and departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS NEEDED):

    REQUIRED: student attending 2 year or 4 year accredited school at least part-time

    SKILLS:

    • Analytical and quantitative skills and demonstrated ability to develop strategic solutions utilizing root cause analysis.
    • Ability to work in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
    • Demonstrated effective communication skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks while dealing with a high volume of complex information and specific deadlines
    • Candidate must be available to work 20+ hours per week

    EDUCATION/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (SCHOOLING, CERTIFICATIONS):

    Preferred: Pursuing Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS (FOR EX. LIFTING, WORKING IN HEIGHTS):

    • VISION: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
    • HEARING: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
    • SPEAKING: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
    • EQUIPMENT OPERATION (PERSONAL COMPUTER, TELEPHONE, COPIES, FAX MACHINE, AND RELATED OFFICE EQUIPMENT AND USING ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION CARD TO ENTER BUILDING FLOORS AND INTERNAL DOORS): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
    • CARRYING: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
    • LIFTING: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
    • PUSHING / PULLING: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
    • SITTING: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
    • SQUATTING / KNEELING: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
    • STANDING: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
    • TRAVEL: able to travel independently and at short notice.

    WALKING (INCLUDE ROUTINE WALKING SUCH AS TO A SHARED PRINTER TO RETRIEVE DOCUMENTS): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
