    Position Title: Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic
    Location: Great Falls, Montana – Avmax

    Overview

    Avmax is seeking skilled Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics to join our team in Montana. This role is responsible for performing high-quality maintenance, repairs, and modifications on a variety of aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced MRO environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.

    • Conduct repairs on airframe structures, engines, hydraulics, landing gear, and electrical/avionics systems as required.

    • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.

    • Document all maintenance tasks accurately in aircraft logbooks and company systems.

    • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.

    • Collaborate with quality inspectors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.

    • Participate in AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery operations as needed.

    • Adhere to strict safety and compliance standards.

    Qualifications

    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).

    • Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (commercial, regional, or corporate aircraft).

    • Familiarity with maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

    • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime if required.

    • Must provide your own basic set of tools.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Work in confined spaces and at heights.

    • Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

    • Competitive hourly pay (DOE) – typically $34–$40/hr for skilled mechanics, with overtime at 1.5x.
