These demo environments run instances of all VMware's products so that our partners, field and prospects get a hands on experience of our product before making a purchasing decision. The products this employee will be working with are from the VMware End-User computing business unit. These products focus on delivering applications and resources to mobile devices of the modern workforce while keeping devices secure (titled VMware AirWatch and VMware Workspace ONE). This position is unique in that you'll be working with many teams across VMware so you'll gain experience across all functions including Marketing, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and QA. The main roles and responsibilities will be to work with the product management team to setup products as they are released. Once configured, we'll document (through articles, videos, and online trainings) and release the functionality to the field. From there we'll need to jump in if a product "breaks" and bring any potential bugs to our R&D team for resolution. Another function of this job involves assisting with events where we need to showcase our products including trade shows, analyst briefings and meetings with our technology partners. Specific responsibilities include: Define and drive use cases, user personas, product features/requirements Identify a variety of customer needs across the application environment, drive feature prioritization and work closely with engineering to deliver successful products Understand customer needs and requirements Work closely with key VMware stakeholders including Engineering, Support/Services, Product Management and Sales Understand the market competition for the product set and develop product and competitive positioning Requirements: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical knowledge You have work experience in product management, product marketing, or equivalent experience in enterprise software technology. You have excellent written and verbal communications skills and are confident presenting to large audiences (e.g. VMworld) Your past experience includes interacting with and presenting to customers and prospects You're capable of quickly understanding technologies, algorithms, and architecture, and interpret and articulate them into customer-facing implications Previous experience shows strong team skills and the ability to bring together diverse views. Desired Skills: Experience with VMware products You can seamlessly translate technology features into business benefits You offer proven analytical abilities and think outside of the box You are capable in developing creative/non-traditional solutions You have knowledge of either networking and security IT products or Cloud Management Platforms (e.g. OpenStack, vRealize Automation, vCloud Director) Understanding the needs, scenarios, and common deployments in the enterprise datacenter is highly desirable
