    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a motivated, personable, stand-out candidates for an Algorithm and Simulation Intern to join its world-class engineering team for a 6-month period. The successful candidate will be eager to work side-by-side with top engineers, data scientists and bioinformaticians as we design, implement and tune algorithms for simulating human biological system responses to medical interventions within disease states and statistical analyses in support.

    We are a small group, so you will have exposure to everything we do, from designing Machine Learning systems to working with our R&D team as they handoff new scientific approaches. We offer a friendly, supportive engineering group within a company of dedicated scientists and data specialists. You will learn, teach, enjoy and contribute on a daily basis. Past interns have thrived at Aitia during their internships and have gone on to important positions within this company and to excel in their careers elsewhere.

    Requirements and qualifications:

    • Recent bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as computer or physical sciences, mathematics or theoretical sciences, engineering, etc.
    • Demonstratable proficiency in at least one modern OO language
    • Experience with any of Java, Python, R, C, C++
    • Interest in statistical algorithm design and optimization
    • Friendly attitude
    • Team player
    • Good time-management, interpersonal and communication skills
