Controller Akervall Technologies, Inc Saline, MI 48176 Small-sized manufacturing company with multi-state economic or physical nexus is seeking a Controller to oversee all finance and accounting activities. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexible hours. The selected candidate must have the ability to handle a broad range of responsibilities, strong analytical skills as well as the ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally. Job Duties: * Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions * Support and participate in the company's strategic plans * Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards * Ensure financial controls are in place * Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process * Bi-weekly Payroll review and oversight * HR functionality (hiring/terminations, policies, handbooks, annual benefit renewal, employment law) * Manage Year-end Physical Inventory * Cost Accounting Support (Item Master Maintenance, Annual Labor/Burden Rate Calculation) * Oversee and provide guidance to the AP/AR Staff Accountant * Prepare and monitor operating budgets * Manage sales tax compliance and auto-filing via TaxJar * Coordinate all tax returns with CPA (multi-state and Federal) * Manage all audits * Prepare 1099's via NetSuite * Commercial insurance maintenance and annual renewals * Manage Fixed Assets (Excel) Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting - Master's degree preferred * Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience required as a Controller in a small to mid-sized organization * Strong understanding of monthly accounting closes as well as the implementation of department-wide accounting procedures * Effective communication, analytical and management skills * Manufacturing accounting experience - preferred * Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Excel required * Strong leadership skills and a collaborative personality * Strong ERP experience (NetSuite preferred) Benefits · Medical, Dental and Vision · Life Insurance · 401(k) with match · Paid Time Off Please reply to hr@sisuguard.com with cover letter or introduction and resume.
