    We are currently looking for a Quality and Food Safety Manager with a passion for process improvement and quality. This position is responsible for food safety and quality management systems and regulatory compliance within the Cacique City of Industry facility. The FSQR Manager will train and motivate team to insure continuous and consistent program implementation and continuous improvement.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. Plan, coordinate, and direct all quality, regulatory and food safety programs within the establishment to insure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations.
    • Direct management of quality staff
    • Direct responsibility for all internal auditing programs and 3rd party audit compliance
    • Compliance with all company food safety & quality programs and procedures
    • Maintenance of all plant food safety & quality documentation systems
    • Development and maintenance of food safety & quality training programs for entire plant
    • Overall food safety & quality leadership to ensure the safe and efficient manufacturing of the highest quality products to meet customer specifications.
    • Acts as customer interface with plant to review product performance, respond to questions and complaints, and work with operations to ensure customer expectations are met.
    • Reviews and verifies results and communicates with Director of Food Safety and Quality.
    • Facilitates quality improvement variation reduction and root cause determination.

    Required Skills

    • Experience in building, creating, and managing Supply Quality Assurance programs
    • Experience leading and supervising teams
    • SQF Practitioner (preferred)
    • PCQI Certified (Preventative Control Qualified Individual)
    • Solid understanding of CDFA – FSS and FDA FSMA requirements
    • Demonstrated experience working with food microbiology to include: basic microbiology, parameters affecting the growth of microorganisms, isolation and identification of pathogens, primary sources of microorganisms in food, how food becomes contaminated, foodborne illness, and food processing essentials.
    • Ability to provide leadership and motivation to engage employees in the business
    • Strong risk management skills
    • Ability to rethink and improve business for continued growth
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and ensure execution
    • Strong troubleshooting and process improvement skills
    • Auditing experience and skills
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint)

    Required Experience

    • BS and/or advanced degree in science or other applicable fields
    • Minimum of 5 years of food safety/quality/regulatory experience
