    Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”).

    PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

    Bienvivir is currently accepting applications for the following position:

    DAYCARE PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT

    The Daycare Personal Care Attendant (PCA) will directly serve participants in need of cognitive and physical assistance in the Bienvivir Adult Day Care. PCAs will perform diverse
    activities throughout the course of a workday; responsibilities include personal care, assisting with ADLs and cognitive intervention skills to facilitate independence, communication, and self-esteem. Services include but are not limited to:
    Bathing Toileting Transfers
    Dressing/Grooming Feeding Vital Signs/Weights
    Changing Linen Laundry
    Walking/Transferring Cleaning/Disinfecting
    Arts & Crafts Social Activities
    Passing Food Trays Exercises
    Escorting Changing Oxygen Cylinders

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Perform basic skilled personal care tasks as per the participant’s wishes, Plan of Care, or as directed by the Floor Manager.
    2. Monitor and assist participants in the Quiet Room, Day Room, restrooms, and showers.
    3. Report any pertinent information regarding the participant’s health status or needs to the Floor Manager, including any observed changes requiring follow up or special interventions.
    4. Assist with laundry, cleaning tables, cleaning participant’s bathroom after use, cleaning spills and maintaining the day health center in a neat, safe and orderly fashion. Clean equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, lap trays, lap buddies, etc. as needed.
    5. Organize and maintain storage closets, supplies, cabinets, etc.
    6. Distribute meals and assist participants with feeding as needed.
    7. Provide reassurance, encouragement, and support to the participants.
    8. Motivate participants to maximize involvement with program activities and to increase independence according to the individual’s abilities.
    9. Assist with loading and unloading of participants on/off the van during their arrival and departure from the center in a safe manner.
    10. Change participant oxygen tubing and label each week.
    11. Document encounters on a daily basis according to guidelines; as well as all documentation requirements on a timely basis.
    12. Assist with the following:
    Recreational/Physical Activities
    Orientation
    Arts & crafts
    Social/Educational Activities
    Entertainment Activities
    13. Maintain the department’s supply inventory per protocol.
    14. Assist Activity Coordinator to carry out daily recreational activities.
    15. Adhere to all Bienvivir policies and procedures.
    16. Should the need arise, PCA may be called upon to volunteer for Escort duty if equipped to do so.
    17. Assist with all emergency evacuation activities as assigned.
    18. Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
    A. High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
    B. Texas Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
    C. CPR certified
    D. Food Handlers Card
    E. One year of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred
    F. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    G. Basic Computer Skills
    H. Ability to maintain and demonstrate competency skills
