    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Creates and authors social media content for organization’s website and social media accounts. Assists the Marketing Manager in developing the direction of the social media accounts. Assists with directing and planning content. Targets projects to specific audiences. Writes content and articles for Museum communications, newsletters, and publications. Researches and writes communications for public relations projects. Performs administrative duties.                                                                                          

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Creates content and games for social media tools.
    • Authors newsletters for members, donors, and other audiences.
    • Author content for print / members magazine.
    • Help drive the direction of social content.
    • Work with internal teams to develop public relations strategies and deliverables.
    • Research and write public relations communications including general campaign materials, corporate communication, videos, web copy, social media, emails, letters, and press releases.
    • Stay current on trends and a changing media landscape.
    • Cultivate relations with social media influencers.
    • Organize, plan, and oversee social media influencer events at the Museum.
    • Cultivate media relations with print, broadcast, and online outlets, and initiate partnership outreach.
    • Develop and oversee media lists.
    • Track and measure performance of PR programs against well-defined key performance indicators. Provide reporting and metrics to measure success.·        
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience preferred. Similar experience and proficiency in MS Office with knowledge of Adobe programs preferred. Wordpress is a bonus. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Experience developing and implementing policies preferred. Must be reliable and trustworthy; detail oriented and able to assume significant responsibility. Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects simultaneously. Professional demeanor, neat appearance, and proven interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills; mature judgment; flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs of organization. Works well in a team environment. Appreciation of art preferred.
