Job Description
The associate brand manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans to achieve financial and market share goals for one of AlEn USA’s brands. This role will be responsible to develop and lead execution of brand plans, asses and inform on competitors and category dynamics and collaborate on financial analysis as well as general managerial tasks to properly manage a brand.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
STRATEGIC PLANNING:
- Responsible for the achievement of financial and market share targets for a brand
- Collaborate on developing marketing strategies and lead execution of marketing plans based on consumer and shopper behavior
- Lead and align cross functional areas including trade marketing, supply chain, sales and finance to develop and execute successful commercial plans in order to deliver financial and share plans and targets
- Identify white space growth opportunities for the brand
- Identify, build and execute breakthrough ideas that build relevance for our brands
LEADERSHIP:
- Cross functional leadership and building influence to align resources towards the completion of brand goals
- Strong leadership skills to lead projects across multifunctional teams across US and MX teams
MARKETING TASKS:
- Develop the annual brand business plan and the brand activity grid under the supervision of the Senior/Brand manager
- Monitor key brand, financial and marketing investment KPIs, synthesize insights/action areas and own execution through engaging the appropriate resources.
- Brief and work with creative and media agencies to develop consumer communication, based on insight and brand positioning
- Manage the efficiency and ROI of communications including budget management & channel optimization.
- Lead assessment of research needs to get relevant consumer insights for the development of new ideas and products
- Analyze and assess competitive brands and category dynamics to inform and recommend necessary actions to protect brand share
- Support the Trade marketing team as required in the implementation of the store-format activation plans or optimizing product assortment and promotional strategy.
- Support the Sales team in creating customer presentations and meeting customer requirements.
- Creating Innova flows for product, special pack and display projects needed to deliver on annual brand goals.
- Monitoring product, special pack and display development projects weekly ensuring their execution on time and on cost targets. Communicate any issues that may delay project providing potential alternative solutions for getting back on track
- Master internal information and reporting system
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong entrepreneurial acumen, willing to take on a fast-growing brand in a rapidly growing company. Able to quickly assess an opportunity with incomplete data, frame an action plan; then drive a team to execute in market.
- Experienced brand marketer with 3 years of progressive marketing experience in a major consumer goods company. Household care experience preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
- Must have relevant CPG and US retail knowledge.
- Able to operate in an unstructured environment but with a clear vision of how to build structure and process over time.
- Experience building cross-functional consensus. Not afraid to recruit internal cross-functional team members as well as executive sponsors.
- Strong project manager.
- Strong business acumen. In partnership with Finance able to quickly build pro-forma P&Ls, challenge economic assumptions, and optimize economic levers to deliver strong business cases.
- Able to operate in a lean organization with limited resources.
- Strong brief writer. Able to clearly direct agencies, product developers, and research partners by distilling information that matters most, while not including “nice to have” information.
- Able to quickly build rapport with the field, listen to input, and drive both regional and national consensus.
- Excellent communicator. Strong management presence, but with an approachable style.
- Strong proficiency in Nielsen/ IRI and internal shipment/financial databases.
- Strong analytical skills to be able to analyze data and get important insight to inform
- Expert level proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- 25% travel.
