    Are you looking for the opportunity of a lifetime? Are you interested in spending next spring and summer at one of the most beautiful sites in America - Yellowstone National Park? STGi is looking to hire RNs to cover STGi’s Old Faithful Clinic at Yellowstone National Park. 

    The Old Faithful Clinic is a seasonal clinic open from April 15 – October 31. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO COMMIT TO THE WHOLE SEASON. In addition to Old Faithful Clinic, STGi’s Lake Clinic provides urgent and emergency care as well as some primary care for local residents and employees. Employees of Old Faithful Clinic may be asked to work at the Lake Clinic. A wide age range of patients with diverse injuries and illnesses are seen. Our main clinic site, the Mammoth Clinic, functions as a primary care home for residents in the area and is staffed year-round by a physician. During the summer season, a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner is hired to staff on weekends to accommodate the expanded hours of service. Limited point-of-service lab and x-ray are available at all three facilities. 

    The National Park Service provides EMS services and medical control is provided by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. A STGi physician team consisting of the Mammoth Clinic physician, Yellowstone National Park Medical Director and STGi's Corporate Medical Director, provides mid-level provider oversight. The RN will be an employee of STGi. Under STGi, the nurse will assist in providing all aspects of clinical services to Yellowstone National Park. This includes participation in the billing process as delineated by STGi Financial remuneration, administrative and operational services are provided by STGi. The employee policies of STGi apply to the RN and full compliance is expected. 

    WHAT TO EXPECT AS A YELLOWSTONE STGI NURSE: 

    • Be part of a team that provides excellent customer service to YNP's employees and guests to the park 
    • Treat injuries and illnesses according to STGi's Evidence Based Medicine practices and guidelines 
    • Administer screening and testing 
    • Provide wellness education 
    • Chart and document using AdvancedMD EMR and paper documents as instructed

     

     

    YOU MUST 

    • Have valid unrestricted state licensure (any state will qualify) 
    • Have current ACLS and BLS certifications. PALS and TNCC preferred 
    • Have a positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player 
    • Be willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service

     

     

    YOU SHOULD 

    • Be comfortable working and living in a remote environment 
    • Be comfortable and productive working with computers and EMR software 
    • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills - with patients, clients and colleagues 
    • Have at least one year of experience in a critical care department such as ICU, ED or PACU

    POTENTIAL TASKS FOR SEASONAL/YEAR ROUND 

    • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. 
    • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects. 
    • Record patients' medical information and vital signs. 
    • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. 
    • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. 
    • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. 
    • Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular group/clinic. 
    • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. 
    • Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs. 
    • Assess the needs of individuals, families, or communities, including assessment of individuals' home or work environments, to identify potential health or safety problems. 
    • Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained. 
    • Refer students or patients to specialized health resources or community agencies furnishing assistance. 
    • Consult with institutions or associations regarding issues or concerns relevant to the practice and profession of nursing. 
    • Inform physician of patient's condition during anesthesia. 
    • Administer local, inhalation, intravenous, or other anesthetics. 
    • Provide health care, first aid, immunizations, or assistance in convalescence or rehabilitation in locations such as schools, hospitals, or industry. 
    • Conduct specified laboratory tests. 
    • Direct or coordinate infection control programs, advising or consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions. 
    • Prescribe or recommend drugs, medical devices, or other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. 
    • Perform physical examinations, and treat patients en route to hospitals or at disaster site triage centers. 
    • Provide or arrange for training or instruction of auxiliary personnel or students. 
    • Work with individuals, groups, or families to plan or implement programs designed to improve the overall health of communities.
