Position Title: Public Relations Specialist

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Summary

Public relations specialists are responsible for growing, shaping, and maintaining a company's reputation and brand. Public relations specialists are tasked with identifying media opportunities, maintaining existing media relations, and promoting positive public awareness of the company through external communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop PR marketing strategies.

Form an impressive public-facing brand image.

Create and facilitate PR campaigns.

Organize PR-related events to increase awareness of our company.

Manage PR crises and issues that involve our organization.

Serve as company spokesperson at public-facing events.

Track industry trends.

Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships, facilitates communications and coordinates activities among two or more people, agencies, or organizations.

Report on PR campaigns’ results

Manage sensitive issues to maintain company’s good reputation.

Ensure brand consistency in all advertising efforts.

Requirements and Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate

BSc in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field preferred.

Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Team-management and leadership skills.

Documentation management and ability to use project management tools.

Attention to details even under pressure.

Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to foster long-term relationships with key professionals.

Creative abilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence to serve as the company’s spokesperson.

Proven work experience as a Public Relations Specialist or similar role.
