    Job Description

    Alcott HR is partnering with our client JAMAICA BEARINGS in the recruitment of a full time GOVERNMENT SALES SPECIALIST. In this role, you'll lead the way in preparing and submitting quotations to Government and third-party customers and handle subsequent negotiations. You’ll interface with customers, suppliers and internal team members to ensure quotations are compliant and products are priced accordingly. This position will be based out of the Camarillo, CA office location.

    Your day to day responsibilities will include addressing customers’ requirements, reviewing RFQ and request quotations from suppliers, reviewing supplier quotes, preparing cost and pricing data for customers, negotiating pricing, and more.

    HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Address customers’ requirements from phone, fax, mail, or EDI communications
    • Review RFQ and request quotations from suppliers including flow down of contractual requirements including certs, test reports and part interchange
    • Collaborate with internal departments at pre-award stage to support customer needs
    • Review supplier quote for completeness, negotiate with supplier on price as necessary
    • Prepare cost and pricing data & submit quotations to customers.
    • Perform due diligence and provide recommendations when encountering questions or problems that need to be elevated
    • Negotiate price and terms and conditions with customer
    • Review & process potential awards prior to execution ensuring accuracy for post awards team
    • Maintains an effective follow up process to ensure that opportunities are quoted and awarded, including weekly phone calls with suppliers
    • Assist accounting with customer account set-up when required
    • Completes all other assignments that may be required by the company
    • Participates in regular weekly and monthly team meetings and shares information about upcoming projects to be converted into sales.

    JAMAICA BEARINGS PROVIDES AN EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR GOVERNMENT SALES SPECIALISTS TO ADVANCE WITHIN THEIR ROLE. OVER TIME, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TAKE ON ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Sourcing products and find solutions for customers from suppliers on a rush basis to ensure that offers are sent to customers quickly
    • Performing strategic pricing analysis
    • Providing bi-weekly follow up at the buyer level with subsequent written reporting to manager and formal AS400 update with latest status
    • Contributing to regular weekly and monthly team meetings and shares information about upcoming projects to be converted into sales
    • Evaluating non-Government direct opportunities to determine correct supply source as well as appropriate JBG division
    • Track and analyze trend data for solicitations (awards / cancellations / lost / open / unquoted) by respective supplier
    • Providing input to annual sales forecasting and quarterly sales updates for assigned accounts

    YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO HAS:

    • 2-year college or technical school degree (or equivalent amount of experience)
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both internal and external to the organization-written, oral, phone, computer, internet
    • Basic understanding of distribution framework and product application
    • Skilled at being extremely detail-oriented and able to multi-task
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word)
    • Ability to modify PDF documents with PDF Writer
    • Ability to access FedMall and format data for management usage
    • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
    • Ability to establish relations with a wide range of personalities, cultural backgrounds and educational levels
    • Ability to focus on tasks and be effective in pressure situations
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast-paced, constantly changing and ambiguous environment.
