Our approach integrates capabilities across public relations, social and digital media and marketing, expertly executing communications from clinical to commercial stages.

    Our client is seeking a highly skilled communications professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our rapidly growing agency as a Senior Account Executive (SAE). Candidates should have experience working in the pharmaceutical or medical device space. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the candidate who is energetic, interested in growth, willing to learn, and able to effectively lead in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and creative team, focused on delivering results. This role is suited for the candidate who is decisive and takes initiative to proactively find solutions for our clients. Our client is a collaborative environment where we roll up our sleeves to work together and deliver results. The successful candidate will be able to operate with a high degree of independence; proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated excellent attention to detail in writing, including external and internal communications is required.

    Should be capable of handling all day-to-day account activities without significant oversight and have a strategic understanding of communication programs and experience executing successful media relations initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    Account Management

      • Serves as primary point of client contact for all day-to-day account activities.

      • Communicates professionally and effectively with clients and cultivates strong relationships.

      • Manages expectations and delivers high-quality program that meet and exceed client goals.

      • Exhibit an understanding of the role of integrated communications in client programming and applies those skills in developing and executing integrated plans and proactively expanding the scope of services for our clients.

      • Understands client needs and demonstrate an ability to develop comprehensive communications plans and implement a full range of tactics for specific programs.

      • Demonstrates awareness and understanding of product, therapeutic area and disease state assigned and can apply knowledge to account programming and content.

      • Understands industry processes and terminology, as well as the regulatory environment. References and applies processes appropriately in leading interactions with clients and while executing tasks in own area of work.

      • Stays up to date with relevant industry news and trends and applies insights to existing clients.

      • Demonstrates excellent project management skills to keep projects well- managed, focused and ensure on-time delivery.

      • Efficiently manages account teams and allocate resources.

      • Develops an understanding of program budgets and manage monthly PR activities and timely client reporting including, progress/status updates, program impact/results.


    Content Creation

    • Demonstrates strong writing and editing skills with the ability to deliver first-pass quality without significant oversight, command of AP style.

    • Assumes editorial review and quality control for materials developed by junior staff.

    • Drives client content including, messaging, press releases, presentations, website copy, talking points, media pitches, social media posts, etc.

    • Understands audience needs to develop effective messaging and content strategy.


    Media Relations/Social Media

    • Demonstrates command of media relations and issue management strategy.

    • Proactively identifies media opportunities and conduct outreach independently based on news announcements.

    • Has insight and knowledge of key industry media outlets and journalists develops strong relationships with industry reporters.

    • Understands social media channels, strategies and demonstrate an ability to compose effective social media plans in collaboration with the social media team.


    Agency Management

    • Supervises junior staff, including providing ongoing feedback and assisting in the identification of training, education, and skill-building opportunities.

    • Assists in business development, including participation in meetings, pitches, and the development of materials, as assigned.

    • Balances workload and tasks within an account team, communicates effectively with management regarding resourcing needs.

    • Assists in implementing efficient and appropriate agency processes.

    • Collaborates and communicates timely and efficiently among account team members and different divisions.

    Preferred Experience

    • Minimum of 4 years public relations/communications experience, with relevant agency experience, or equivalent.

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, public relations, or business/marketing.

    • Short and long-form content development, including articles, press releases and social media posts.

    • Experience in driving commercial product and R&D milestones.

    • Familiarity with managing digital and social campaigns.

    • A sense of urgency with the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects.

    • Successful track record in managing and growing client business.

    • Confidence and ability to provide counsel to senior-level executives/clients.

    • Purpose and integrity driven, with the ability to collaborate with and build teams.

    • Solutions oriented with the ability to navigate ambiguity.

    • Strong writing and editing skills required. Samples requested.

    • Experience with science-focused accounts, advocacy, and product marketing a plus.
