Our company contributes to strategy and leads the planning of client campaigns, ensuring implementation within deadlines and providing tactical and strategic advice and day-to-day support for client marketing communications programs. The Senior Account Manager is responsible for managing the Account Executives and planning team time to ensure each client receives the right level of servicing, as defined by the Account Director.
As Senior Account Manager, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Having the capability to carry out all tasks defined by the Account Executive and Senior Account Executive profile. Ensuring your Account Executives are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their responsibilities
Working alongside your Account Director to set and take responsibility for campaign elements, client-specific activity levels and achievable targets for each six month campaign period
Owning the day to day tactical implementation of all client campaign elements including media relations, influencer programs and social media
Showing creativity and proactivity in developing and implementing new ideas for clients and prospects
Support of agency wide initiatives such as blog posts, case studies, press releases, award entries, lunch and learn training sessions
Showing excellent attention to detail and attention to good standards and client service – and instilling these same values in your teams
Showing excellent time and team management
Excellent understanding of social media and how social media related activities can be integrated into client campaigns
Understanding your clients, their products and services, business drivers, markets, competitors and marketing communications requirements, and how these fit with their wider business and marketing strategies
Setting and managing client expectations – ensuring campaign deliverables are set, reviewed, assessed and always revised to guarantee maximum ROI for clients
Carrying out your day to day work according to the processes, values and ethos of the agency as detailed in the handbook and global standards
Taking primary responsibility for your clients – running campaigns, preparing plans, timelines and review meetings and ensuring deadlines are met and targets achieved
Flagging times for reviews to your Account Directors and supporting with the development and presentation of review proposals
Gaining the confidence of your clients so they recognize you as their day-to-day marketing communications/PR advisor
Being able to analyze client issues from both the external market perspective and the internal political climate
Writing/designing client/prospect presentations and participating in their delivery
Developing excellent media and analyst relations through face to face meetings, event attendance and general phone/email contact
Playing an active role in new business research, proposal development and pitching
Identifying and acting upon opportunities to sell additional services
Act as a primary mentor and manager to AE and SAE level staff within the various teams
Inform your AD and senior agency team members of any issues relevant to the agency as a whole, and to escalate client-level issues as appropriate
You will demonstrate proactive efforts to generate new business leads – socializing, networking etc.

Taking responsibility for setting and exceeding expectations – ensuring deliverables and measurement are set for every account and campaign and are regularly reviewed to ensure maximum ROI
Understanding of your clients, their competitors and the technology space
Excellent media, analyst and blogger relations – and good relations with other influencers too such as conference organizers where appropriate
The standard of your written, verbal and visual communication and presentation skills
Your contribution to the generation of a consistent flow of media coverage for each client by thinking laterally and being proactive and creative
Excellent understanding of social media and how ideas can be integrated into client campaigns – willingness to try new ideas
Demonstrable input to face-to-face new business pitches through research, creative ideas and teamwork. We would expect participation in a minimum of four new business pitches in a 12 month period
The amount of new business generated by your team and your participation in networking and new business proposals and pitches
The satisfaction ratings of your clients
Excellent attention to detail and excellent, good quality standards and client service - and instilling the same ethos standards across your client base
Contribution to agency creativity through brainstorms
Support of agency wide initiatives such as blog posts, case studies, press releases, award entries, lunch and learn training sessions (running them as well as attending them)
Understanding of marketing services and up-selling these to grow accounts organically
Making a positive contribution to the culture
Effective communications, both internal and external, to enhance our clients’ recognition of the value and quality of our service. Remember that our clients’ perceptions of our business are determined by everyone – from the contact they have from our reception and office management team to our daily account teams and the finance department.
