Job Description

Alert Innovation is looking for a Software Engineer to help develop workstation software, which is the human interface to robotic resources. All product going in or out of the system passes through a workstation. As a software engineer, you will be part of a talented team of software engineers focused on developing industry-changing solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the electrical, mechanical, systems, and safety teams to document and detail software requirements.
• Develop modular, well-documented code
• Create software unit-tests
• Participate in group discussions to share and gain knowledge
• Assist with user manuals and software documentation
• Investigate new technologies

REQUIREMENTS

• Java 8+
• Object-oriented programming
• Familiar with software configuration management, defect tracking, and peer review methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

BONUS SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with workflow tracking and documentation tools such has JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins
• Experience with a web framework (Spring Boot, Angular prefered)
• Experience writing device drivers
• Previous experience working in an agile, collaborative team environment
• Previous experience with Redis and/or Kafka

EDUCATION/ RELATIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area
