    SUMMARY

     

    This is a skilled position requiring knowledge and skills requisite to represent the company and to sell its products to the public, existing customers, and potential customers.  Excellent customer and public relations skills are required as is a basic knowledge and understanding of the following positions:  batch plant supervisor, ready mix dispatcher, ready mix quality control, and ready-mix mixer driver.  Work will be performed per ­supervisor’s instruc­tion, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

     

    • Bids all residential and commercial work in assigned geographic territory with a timely follow-up system that will identify work received from work lost, and why.
    • Manage all customers assigned.
    • Respond to all concrete complaints in a timely fashion, reaching conclusion.
    • May be required to collect monies from outstanding debts due Company.
    • Solve customer problems and complaints in a timely manner.
    • Knowledge of quality assurance requirements.
    • Familiarity with aggregate sizes and required quantities.
    • Knowledge of the ready mix.
    • Ability and willingness to assist in the smooth operation of all facets of the ready-mix business.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints so accurate bids can be generated.
    • Excellent customer and public relations skills resulting in the successful development of strong relationships with customers.
    • Basic understanding of computers and programs required to generate bids, pricing, and proposals.
    • Basic understanding of ready-mix dispatch system, ability to generate system reports, and ability and willingness to assist dispatch when required.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

    5)   Will be required to perform field testing as needed on plastic concrete (i.e., slump,

           air, cast cylinders, etc.).

    6)   Must cold call or make direct contact in pursuit of new customers.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

     

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

     

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

     

    Must have a valid driver's license.

    Must be ACI Field I Certified.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    1)  Minimum 50 hours per week.

    2)  Occasional early morning starting times as well as late-night ending times.

    3)  Occasional lifting (up to 100 lbs.) and climbing involved at Jobsite.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

     

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be computer literate.
