    Job Description

    You will be part of an expert team dedicated to excellent software delivery and superior client support. This position is located on-site in the Washington D.C. and San Diego, CA area. Work may include strenuous activity in austere environments. You will report directly to the Program Manager and perform work for the client's Program Manager

    This position is responsible for providing a variety of cyber security engineering tasks for the development, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems. Ensure the integration of processes and methodologies for total system performance. Apply experience with electronic, software, mathematical, and scientific specialties. Apply basic principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments on a limited basis.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    •Provide expert level knowledge in systems engineering and information technology.

    •Developing enterprise architecture solutions, interface strategies, and systems interoperability analyses.

    •Apply cybersecurity engineering best practices to conceptualize, design, and build secure technical solutions, including applications, systems, architectures, and infrastructure that are operationally viable and efficient.

    •Work with engineers to design and document secure implementation of NIST 800-53, CYBERSAFE and other applicable overlay security controls, IA TA DFIA Standard, IA TA Implementation Standards, and SPAWAR Systems Command DFIA Implementation and Execution guidance. Develop and document risks for controls or standards not being met, and develops mitigations that minimize impact, likelihood, or risk.

    •Perform cybersecurity developmental testing and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and compliance issues, develop mitigations for reducing impact, likelihood, or risk of identified vulnerabilities, and write appropriate mitigation statements.

    •Analyze emerging technologies, and design and build architectures and solutions to enable secure implementation of new technologies.

    •Participation in ad hoc cybersecurity data calls.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Must hold an active Department of Defense-issued Secret security clearance or higher
    • Minimum of 6 years of security engineering and related experience (Information System, Network Data Centers, and/or C4I Infrastructure) for Defense industry/Department of the Navy or comparable Government Agency, preferably experience related to the design, building, integration, and testing of Navy C4I systems.
    • 3+ years of experience with networking and telecommunication technologies.
    • Experience utilizing tools (e.g., Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), etc) to scan systems.
    • Experience with output from automated vulnerability assessment tools, including Nessus and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and reviewing manual testing procedures using DoD STIGs, SRGs, and checklists collaborations, etc
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field.
    • Security+ Certification.
    • Computing Environment (OE) / Operating Systems (OS) certification.
    • Ability to obtain IA Workforce 8570 Certification within 3 months

    SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Possess experience in project management, engineering management, DoD acquisition, or another related subject of comparable complexity and responsibility.
    • Experience deploying and integrating tools, such as an IDS or other sensors, to support defensive cyber operations
    • Experience balancing data, bandwidth, processing, storage, power, space, and analytic concerns to develop DCO engineering recommendations
    • Understanding of cyber adversary threats and ability to leverage that information to drive engineering decisions
    • Eagerness to collaborate across the team and across MITRE to bring to bear the best ideas and research
    • Experience with Splunk or other data analytics platforms
    • Experience with network monitoring tools, including Suricata and Bro
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices
    • Familiarity with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Pearl/Python)
    • Familiarity with Endpoint Detection and Response capabilities
    • Knowledge of the Navy Fleet Cyber mission
