Job Summary
A Junior Life Actuarial Analyst plays a pivotal role in our organization, providing support to our Senior Life Actuaries to allow them to be proactive contributors to the health of Alfa Life. As a Junior Life Actuarial Analyst, you will work closely with our experienced actuarial team to analyze complex data and perform actuarial calculations. Your key responsibilities will include supporting the development of new products and product management, as well as performing work on mortality, investment, lapse, expense, and other experience. As an integral part of our actuarial team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, develop your actuarial expertise, and make a meaningful impact on our organization's financial stability and success.
Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for an increasing variety of periodic financial reporting tasks.
Use the lift actuarial software and Excel spreadsheets to provide support for product development, illustration actuary certifications, product management, and illustration checking.
Perform work for mortality, investment, lapse, expense, and other experience analysis under close supervision.
Perform or assist on a variety of ad hoc projects.
Successfully complete examinations in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with other members of the Life Operations team and partner with other departments to ensure successful analysis and design of Alfa Life products.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, with a major in math, statistics, or actuarial science preferred.
Master’s degree in math, statistics, or actuarial science is desirable.
Must be willing to begin taking actuarial exams.
