Job Summary
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be a part of a dynamic team where you will apply your expertise in all aspects of the software development life cycle as well as guide and support development staff. As a leader on this team, you will inspire, engage and empower other developers to achieve company, project and team-related goals. You will play a vital role in bridging the gap between technical and business teams, focusing on the big picture of meeting business requirements.
Responsibilities
Employs all aspects of the software development life cycle.
Coaches/mentors development staff in all aspects of SDLC.
Designs and develops complex software and related components both independently and as part of a team.
Influences, engages, and enables other developers to achieve company, project, and team-related goals.
Tracks and monitors production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms.
Participates in the evolution of company-level best practices, standards, and policies as it relates to software development.
Acts as a liaison between technical and business teams, focusing on the big picture regarding meeting business requirements.
Requires little input from management on day-to-day work, general instructions, and new assignments.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is required. Or bachelor's degree required with 10 years' experience in software development.
Five years of experience performing software development, support, and maintenance. Strong background in C#, ASP, MVC, JavaScript, AngularJS, JQuery, HTML, XML, JSON, Web Services, Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL Server.
Ability to articulate Object Oriented concepts and have experience with full Software Development Life Cycle.
Documented and proven application development record as it relates to the technologies, tools and languages required for the specified position.
Competent communication skills, including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management, and product owners.
Experience leading effective meetings.
Ability to quickly learn and comprehend insurance-related topics and relate that knowledge to the development process.
This position will allow for remote work in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, & Virginia. Applicant may be required to travel to Montgomery corporate headquarters at supervisor's request for meetings and/or training sessions.
