    SUMMARY

    As Accounting Coordinator with Align Residential will develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. You will be heavily involved in the preparation, analysis, audit and maintenance of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements. As Accounting Coordinator, you will assist with all reporting requirements and cash flow processes by coordinating with onsite general managers, ownership groups and the accounting team. You will partner with our accounting team to establish and enforce proper accounting methods, and policies. You will optimize company cash flow by reconciling cash and credit card payments and assist with the business license application & renewal process. Ensure that business taxes, licenses, form 1099, real estate taxes and all other regulatory filings are completed accurately and filed timely.

    This is a full-time, exempt position located in Los Angeles, California and may include some remote work. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare, analyze, and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements.

    • Process daily, month end, and year end transactions including bank reconciliation, record journal entries, AP, and AR transactions.

    • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.

    • Coordinate and prepare lease accounting administration, ensuring the accuracy of leases, billings and receipts in the accounting system.

    • Complete various financial, accounting and reports and analysis as necessary.

    • Prepare and provide auditor requests.

    • Oversee and ensure that business taxes, licenses, form 1099, real estate taxes and all other regulatory fillings are completed accurately and filed timely.

    • Reconcile CAM, prepare and maintain reports for commercial areas.

    • Identify opportunities for developing sustainable, efficient processes.

    • Review agreements to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of management fees calculation.

    • Assist in the preparation and review of operating budgets and reforecasts.

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3 or more years of accounting experience in real estate accounting
    • Proficient in industry systems such as Yardi, Avid, and Real Page.
    • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Detail-oriented and methodical, with the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Can clearly communicate ideas to those without a background in finance
    • Must work well under pressure and with concurrent projects

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 3-4 years' experience
