A growing, multi-state company in the manufacturing and retail space is looking for a Senior Director of Tax to join its organization. 

Job Description:

1\. Overseeing areas such as income tax, motor fuel tax, sales tax, property tax, and unclaimed property reporting. Assessing resource requirements and determining the optimal balance between external and internal tax preparation and consultation.

2\. Identifying strategic tax planning opportunities continuously.

3\. Proactively communicating significant tax matters and contributing to strategic decision-making with senior management.

4\. Coordinating tax planning activities with the compliance calendar to ensure timely adherence to tax deadlines and resource availability.

5\. Personally supervising the calculation of individual shareholder estimated payments, corporate distributions, and compliance on a quarterly and annual basis.

6\. Reviewing tax provisions as necessary.

7\. Collaborating closely with various accounting teams to enhance efficiency and coordination between accounting and tax functions.

8\. Conducting research on appropriate tax strategies in response to new accounting standards and providing guidance and recommendations on related matters.

9\. Periodically evaluating policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance standards.

10\. Managing staff and processes in collaboration with directors to ensure timely compliance with Federal and state tax reporting requirements.

11\. Overseeing tax projects with external consultants while striving to handle as many tax projects in-house as feasible.
