Home Health Aide responsibilities include:
Monitoring and recording patient condition, providing emotional and physical support and personal services and teaching patients and their families
Supporting patients and their families by offering housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks and running errands
Assisting patients with personal care services such as; bathing, dressing and grooming
Helping patients retain their independence by educating/assisting with the use of assistive devices
Advising patients and their families on nutrition, cleanliness and housekeeping
Recording patient information by documenting in patient's communication book and notifying nursing staff of any changes or unusual conditions
Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards
Protecting the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements
Qualifications of a Home Health Aide
High school diploma or equivalency
Valid and current drivers license, current registration and insurance
Valid Home Health Aide certification
Minimum of 1+ year(s) professional or personal experience providing home care services to seniors
