    Home Health Aide responsibilities include: 

    • Monitoring and recording patient condition, providing emotional and physical support and personal services and teaching patients and their families

    • Supporting patients and their families by offering housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks and running errands

    • Assisting patients with personal care services such as; bathing, dressing and grooming

    • Helping patients retain their independence by educating/assisting with the use of assistive devices

    • Advising patients and their families on nutrition, cleanliness and housekeeping

    • Recording patient information by documenting in patient's communication book and notifying nursing staff of any changes or unusual conditions

    • Maintaining a safe, secure and healthy environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards

    • Protecting the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements

    Qualifications of a Home Health Aide

    1. High school diploma or equivalency

    2. Valid and current drivers license, current registration and insurance

    3. Valid Home Health Aide certification

    4. Minimum of 1+ year(s) professional or personal experience providing home care services to seniors
