JOB DESCRIPTION
The Instructor conducts swim lessons for members and guests in private, semi-private, and group settings using specified guidelines provided by the Aquatics Director. He or she keeps children in swim lessons under constant control and scrutiny for safety. The Instructor teaches children so that they progress effectively to higher levels of training. The Instructor maintains attendance records, schedules private sessions with current clients and communicates with potential clients. This is a great position for someone who is looking to work part time with a flexible schedule. Most lessons are performed on weekends and outside of the normal scholl schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts lessons following All Sport guidelines and procedures
Ensures the safety of all participants through constant vigilance
Provides emergency care and treatment as required
Maintains facility and equipment in safe and clean condition
Participates in marketing and in promoting membership growth and member participation in classes, events, and training
Coordinates with clients and Aquatic Director
QUALIFICATIONS
WSI (Water Safety Instructor) recommended or willing to train towards becoming a WSI certified instructor
Must be CPR and First Aid certified (These certifications are offered at All Sport)
Previous leadership experience in a specific sports program
Conflict resolution skills and able to diplomatically manage confrontation
Member service oriented with outstanding communication skills
Upbeat personality with a warm and friendly demeanor
Able to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Meets the physical requirements of the position
Enjoys working with Children and Adults
Swim team experience or experience as a Swim Lesson Instructor
