Shredder Manager – Metals Recycling – Base Salary to 160k/year – Oakland, CA
- Our client, a Metals Recycler, is seeking a Shredder Manager to oversee Production and Quality Control of the Shredder Operations. This role will be responsible for communicating all repair & maintenance issues and assign daily duties for the shredder personnel.
- In this role, the Shredder Manager will manage all facets of the Shredder Production Operation and aim to provide the highest quality product safely and efficiently, as well as decrease errors & drive up profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure established safety practices & PPE are used at all times
- Provide a safe environment for customers in the yard
- Create SOPs related to Health & Safety for the Regional Safety Teams
- Oversee Training for New Hires
- Responsible for understanding & ensuring regulatory compliance across the department
- Establishes work schedule for employees in the department in order to run efficiently
- Interview, Hire & Train Operators & Mechanics
- Works Cross-functionally with Plant Manager & Maintenance Regarding Shredder Maintenance & Repairs
- Discuss Major Upgrades & Projects, as well as regularly scheduled maintenance with leadership on a monthly basis
- Develop & Manage Critical Parts List & Inventory Process-Reorders Inventory & Tracks Parts
- Maintains Documented Quality Control Program & Open communication with Sales & Commercial Teams
- Works with Internal & Customer Specs for Materials – Discuss any off grade off spec materials with supervisor
- Prepares & Monitors Daily Production Reports to Continuously Improve Throughput, Reduce Costs, Maximize Metal Recovery & Increase Profitability
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Work Experience
- 2+ years of Managerial Experience
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude & Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
- Previous Exposure to working with a Union Environment is a Plus
- MUST have experience working on Shredders—changing hammers, liners, & knowledge of Hydraulic equipment & systems
Compensation: Total compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary up to 160k/year, plus an annual bonus, and relocation assistance if needed. Our client also offers competitive benefits and 401k with a company match.
