Process Engineer – Plastics & Polymers – Base Salary to 120k/year – Los Angeles, CA

• Our client, a Plastic Film Manufacturer, is seeking a Process Engineer to support production, product development & maintenance.
• In this role, the Process Engineer will contribute and support all areas in regard to equipment and process upgrades, and new installations in an effort to manufacture optimal quality films and compounds.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct processing trials such as film extrusion, compounding, physical testing, and analysis of samples along with writing technical reports of those studies.
• Optimize process flows to increase efficiency during new product launches
• Implement new processes & improvements to reduce costs
• Improve manufacturing processes to help reduce scrap, justify expenditures, increase product quality and reduce set up time
• Provide technical support to production
• Participate in equipment & product validations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in Plastics, Compounding, Polymers or Film Extrusion
• Hands-on experience—this position will require heavy presence on the production floor
• Knowledge of lean six sigma quality tools
• Root cause analysis & corrective actions experience
• Strong written and verbal communication

Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 120k/year. Our client also offers competitive health and life benefits & 401k. Relocation assistance is also available.
