Shredder Production Supervisor – Metals Recycling – Base Salary to 120k/year – Boston, MA

• Our client, a large Metals Recycler, is seeking a Shredder Production Supervisor to directly supervise Shredder Operations employees on multiple shifts. This role will be responsible for overseeing production & quality control of shredder operations.
• In this role, the Shredder Production Supervisor will be responsible for communicating with Maintenance regarding all repair & maintenance problems related to the shredder. He/She will be responsible for assigning daily tasks for equipment operators, pickers & cleaners.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe work environment & assist the Regional Safety Engineers in training employees on safety procedures
• Ensures Documentation, Inspections & all Current Practices are in accordance with the corporate safety policies, OSHA standards & meet other regulatory requirements
• Ensure a safe environment for all customers at the shredder
• Provides leadership to the department employees on multiple shifts. Assigns work schedule to run efficiently at optimal production rates.
• Reviews repair & maintenance needs with Shredder Manager & Maintenance
• Determines critical parts & lead times to maintain effective functioning of equipment
• Provides regular reporting with scheduled repairs, upgrades & major projects- Responsible for scheduling major projects
• Implement & maintain an effective, documented Quality Control program- help to eliminate consumer quality complaints, downgrades & eliminate claims
• Monitors daily production & helps to continuously improve throughput, reduce costs/expenses and increase profitability
• Hire, Train, Develop & Discipline Employees

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Heavy Industrial/Manufacturing Work Experience
• Previous Experience as Supervisor or Manager- MUST HAVE
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude & Maintenance Background
• Experience working in a Unionized Environment
• Problem Solving & Ability to apply principles of logic & scientific thinking to resolve issues
• MUST have experience working on Shredders—changing hammers, liners, & knowledge of Hydraulic equipment & systems

Compensation: Total compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary up to 120k/year, plus an annual bonus, and relocation assistance if needed. Our client also offers competitive benefits and 401k with a company match.
