Senior Staff Accountant – Construction – Base Salary to 90k/year – Owings Mills, MD
Our client, a well-established construction products company, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for their location south of Hunt Valley, MD.
Project and / or Public Accounting with supervisory experience is ideal for this position.
Responsibilities:
Assist in month end close
Review the General Ledger for accuracy
Assist CFO/Controller in day-to-day operations
Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, loan statements, etc.
Review vendor creation & contractor documents
Assist in yearend review procedures
Assist the CFO/Controller in quarterly reviews of A/R and A/P aging schedules
Maintain schedules to include fixed assets, prepaids and notes payable
Manage Sales & Use tax recording and reporting
Aid in internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance
Maintain WIP Report
Assist in handling credit card transaction coding and receipts
Assist with accounting for various entities as necessary
Ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; CPA preferred
3+ Years Accounting Experience; supervisory experience preferred
Construction Industry or Project accounting preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong analytic abilities
Compensation:
Base salary in the 80k - 90k/year based on experience; negotiable if offering CPA or supervisory experience
