Shop Supervisor – CNC Machines – Base Salary to 75k/year – Monroe, LA

• Our client is a full-service machine shop specializing in precision machining and fabrication. They have been in business for over 20 years and are headquartered in the Monroe, LA area. They are looking for a Shop Supervisor for the CNC side of the business. This is a hands-on supervisory role managing a team of 12 – 15 machinists. This position will be responsible for the day to day production of the specialty machining business. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and execution of employees and proper tooling.

Responsibilities:

• Skilled in CNC machining including mills, drills, and lathes
• Skilled in Manual lathes, drill presses, and mills for small to large equipment
• Ability to program machines using BobCad and similar programs
• Consult with machinists to ensure projects are being finished on time and quality is being met
• Ensure machines are running and maintained properly
• Sets priority of work flow to ensure due dates are met
• Recommend, specify and requisition tooling for machining disciplines
• Supervise operators, machinists and programmers
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize production and improve efficiency
• Train machinists and programmers
• Good understanding of programming
• Assist in quoting with regards to programming, machining time estimates and tooling needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues or equipment malfunctions

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of machinist experience (machining and/or CNC programming) and 5+ years of hands-on supervisory experience – (Will consider less experience, but must have 2+ years in machining and supervising)
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Must have a good understanding of continuous process improvement

Compensation:

• Base salary to 75k/year (flexible depending on experience) – ability to earn overtime as well
