    Senior Planner – Architectural/Engineering/Survey Firm – Base Salary to 120k/year – Detroit, MI

    • Our client is an employee owned full-service architectural, civil engineering, and land surveying firm, with a dynamic team of over 170 professionals that work to analyze, advise, design, and deliver successful projects in partnership with government, education, commercial, and energy clients throughout the Great Lakes region. They offer their clients comprehensive, multi-disciplinary services including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Services, GIS, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Reality Capture.
    • They are currently seeking a Senior Planner for their team in Detroit, to aide in project development and processes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner on business development efforts for planning in current or new markets
    • Manage complex planning studies, development applications and reviews proposals
    • Review and process comprehensive plan amendments, re-zonings, annexations, site plans and plats
    • Develop project budgets, administers bidding process, verifies contract expenditures and compliance
    • Present reports and other findings to staff, Planning & Zoning boards, and serves as a liaison to such professionals

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in planning or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred
    • 10+ years of experience with municipal experience and zoning ordinances
    • 5+ years of experience in consulting
    • Membership in American Planning Association
    • AICP Certification
    • CNU- A Accreditation, body of work represents the tenants expressed by the Congress of New Urbanism (CNU). A sophisticated understanding of pedestrian-based design and planning.
    • Previous experience incorporating high-quality graphic presentations into planning processes and documents.
    • Prior experience with or knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
    • Travel between offices for collaboration with team members and for project meetings and job sites as needed

    Compensation:

    • Base salary to 120k/year + bonus
    • PTO and benefits package
