    Maintenance Supervisor – 2nd Shift Food Manufacturing - Base Salary to 80k/year - Decatur, AL

    • Our client, established across the southeast region of the US with a legacy of over a century of industry expertise and operational excellence, is in search of and shift Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Decatur, AL to oversee their 2nd shift operations.
    • The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance projects within a food manufacturing plant, ensuring that machinery, grounds, and buildings are maintained in optimal working condition and comply with regulatory standards such as USDA, GMPs, OSHA, and environmental regulations, this includes supervising a team of up to ten maintenance technicians. This role requires 2nd shift hours.

    Responsibilities:

    • Leads and participates in the supervision and maintenance of the Preventative Maintenance Program, ensuring machinery, grounds, and buildings are in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., USDA, GMPs, OSHA, environmental regulations).
    • Supervises Maintenance Department personnel to minimize downtime, costs, and accidents in day-to-day operations.
    • Organizes, prioritizes, and schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to support production operations.
    • Identifies and recommends opportunities for cost reduction in collaboration with operating teams.
    • Collaborates with Engineering, Product Development, and Quality Assurance departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.
    • Supervises and maintains precision and effectiveness in managing the parts inventory.
    • Participates in the hiring and developing of skilled Maintenance Associates.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2+ years of maintenance experience within manufacturing
    • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in PM System and Microsoft Applications
    • Knowledge of maintenance duties, programs, and requirements in regulated food manufacturing or similar industries
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly those pertaining to the food industry, with a comprehensive understanding of supporting utility functions (e.g., refrigeration systems, boilers, HVAC, PLC, etc.)
