Construction Superintendent – Asphalt and Concrete Company – Base Salary to 110k/year - Denver, CO
Our client is a nationwide provider of asphalt and concrete services. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, our projects are primarily completed throughout the country. They are a small company that is rapidly growing. Our client handles both capital and maintenance projects, and prioritize their employees.
They are seeking a Construction Superintendent (internally titled Traveling Senior Superintendent) who has extensive industry knowledge to assess progress, assist in daily operations and mentor others for successful completion of projects. This position requires travel throughout the United States, in 36 states. Candidates for this position can be located anywhere in the United States with access to a commercial airport. Project work includes, but not limited to, the following states: TX, OK, CO, FL, WY, AZ, MS, IN, LA, VA, MD, MN, MO, KS, UT, CT, NY, NJ, NC, SC, PA, TN, AK, NV, KY, OH, MT, IL.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises and coordinates daily operations for all projects to ensure that proper resources (labor, equipment, material) are in place for the timely completion of work.
Daily communication / coordination with the Project Managers to ensure successful project scheduling, planning, communication, and execution.
Promotes and complies with all company safety policies and procedures.
Reviews all specifications, plans, quotes, and project documents to ensure that the work and schedule is built to meet customer and administrative expectations.
Travels to oversee Asphalt and Concrete crews and subcontractors, mentor Project Managers, maintain phasing plans, change orders, schedules, and budgets.
Ensures that the budget is followed in terms of manpower production and material expenditures.
Ensures that quality is preserved in the concrete and asphalt paving processes.
Continuously monitors productivity and percentage of completion, identifying problems and potential delays, and provides solutions to overcome challenges.
Qualifications:
Lives in Dallas, TX (company HQ) or near any commercial airport in the US.
Up to 80% travel dependent on project location
Travel out of states is 10 days on, 5 days off
10+ years of experience in commercial Concrete and Asphalt construction.
Previous experience as a Concrete and Asphalt Superintendent.
Strong organizational and construction project management skills.
Must know grade elevations and ADA requirement experience.
Industry knowledge in asphalt and concrete, and ability to read construction plans, quantity takeoffs, and field measurements.
Able to maintain positive working relationships with all construction personnel management, owners, trades, and subcontractors.
Able to balance and prioritize multiple deadlines.
Above-average working knowledge of technology and construction related resources, must be computer savvy.
Must be able to lift large objects of at least 60 lbs.
Monday to Friday working hours, with required weekend availability
Asphalt work is typically daytime hours. Concrete work is typically nighttime hours.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 90k – 110k/year range, flexible dependent on experience
