Our client has a history that dates back nearly 150 years. They are an expert in formwork solutions but are also able to provide equipment for all areas of construction activity. On projects from power plants, tunnels, commercial, housing developments to transportation infrastructure and some of the tallest high rises – they provide formwork systems, components, safety solutions and more.
The industrial maintenance/hydraulics technician will be a key player on the local manufacturing team in Channahon, IL. This person will report to the Hydraulics Workshop Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the hydraulic machines and lifting devices that are shipped and stored at this facility. They will be identifying mechanical defects, assisting with repairs, and performing general reconditioning.
Responsibilities
Receives hydraulics and machines from subsidiaries and clients
Perform reconditioning work on hydraulics and machines to restore them to group standards
Tracks and monitors time spent on hydraulic maintenance for charge out purposes
Able to troubleshoot, identify equipment issues and propose workable solutions regarding hydraulics and machines
Possesses thorough understanding of the hydraulics and machines reconditioning process and can issue appropriate instructions and check lists
Manages all spare parts for hydraulics and machines equipment including ordering parts inventory as needed
Manage and maintains all the tools and related equipment required for the hydraulic and machine distribution
Maintains the hydraulic and machine database
Close out reconditioning service orders and reports on materials and labor to be charged to clients
Support DC departments on all related topics to hydraulic and machine materials
Qualifications
High School Diploma is required
Certificate or Associates Degree is preferred
Must have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/operations/logistics setting
Must have a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a hydraulics technician, maintenance technician, or forklift technician
Must have a thorough understanding of hydraulic and electrical equipment
Must have a strong working knowledge of the hydraulic test bench
Must be capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills (knowledge of German or Spanish is a huge plus)
Must be familiar with inventory management systems to locate documents
Must have a strong technical aptitude for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for troubleshooting/diagnostics and repair (cylinders, hoses, pumps, shifting and lifting devices for construction formwork machinery)
Compensation
Strong base salary up to 40.00/hour or more depending on experience
