Production Lead - Manufacturing – Base Salary to 27.00/hour – Endicott, NY
- Our client, a leading industry producer with over 50 years of experience and sustained growth, is seeking a Production Lead to become a valuable member of their team at the Endicott, NY facility.
- In this role, the Production Lead will guide a team through the plastic extrusion process, transforming raw materials into finished goods. Responsibilities will include overseeing the effective operation of equipment, upholding product quality, and supervising a team of operators and technicians. The main objective of this role is to ensure that the shift attains production target while strictly adhering to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- There are 2 shift options for this role: 12:00pm to 12:00am or 12:00am to 12:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate production activities for smooth operation, assigning tasks, and providing guidance as needed
- Ensure proper setup, maintenance, and operation of equipment according to SOPs, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs with the maintenance team.
- Assist supervisor with the production plan, scheduling personnel, establishing priorities, and resolving issues; manage staff recruitment, orientation, and training.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, and recommending action; foster effective communication with other departments.
- Achieve manufacturing staff results by communicating expectations, monitoring job performance, coaching, counseling, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Engage with Quality Control to implement and enforce quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections and tests to verify product quality.
- Maintain housekeeping to 5S standards, promote a safety culture, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety inspections, provide training on safe practices, and address safety concerns promptly; provide training and guidance to staff.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control results; generate reports on production metrics, efficiency, and quality performance.
- Create and revise systems and procedures, identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process improvements, evaluate new technologies, and optimize material utilization.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, observing control points, implementing cost reductions, and fostering cooperation within and between departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in manufacturing or in a similar role within the plastics industry
- Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Proficient computer skills for data entry, documentation, and reporting
