Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today Responsibilities: • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Minimum billable hour requirement of 120 hours per month • Requires in-person Court hearings in Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Montgomery, and Harris Counties in Texas Qualifications: • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association) • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Must be comfortable on camera for videos on relevant topics for social media • Must be able to work without a legal assistant or paralegal • Must be able to bill a minimum of 120 hours per month • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 5 years • Must be organized and self-motivated as this is a remote position • Must be licensed in the State of Texas Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000 yearly
