    Job Description

    The Intern will assist the Accounting and Financial Reporting teams will month end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and helping prepare financial statements. A qualified candidate must have strong analytical skills and be able to get to the root cause of issues with moderate guidance and must be extremely detail-oriented and organized. This individual is expected to demonstrate proficiency in financial databases and software, including excel. This individual is expected to be professional, accountable, and action-oriented. ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
    • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
    • Maintain accounting process documentation
    • Assist in providing information to Finance Management for financial reporting
    • Ensure financial controls are being met and completed
    • Ensure the monthly close & reporting processes run smoothly using Hyperion Financial Management applications.
    • Assist with producing executive reporting packages, consolidated financial statements and program level reporting.
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of reports in Hyperion Financial
    • Reporting Studio, PeopleSoft nVision and Smart View.
    • Perform data validation between reporting platforms.
    • Work with users to identify inefficiencies in processes and propose solutions.
    • Provide actual vs budget and trend variance analysis as required.
    • Respond to customer requests following the 1/24 rule.
    • Assist with department projects.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Actively enrolled in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Functional computer/technical knowledge
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills
    • Ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks
