    Job Description

    The Employee Relations Specialist is a key figure in providing HR support to partners and stakeholders, operating under the guidance of the Employee Relations Manager. This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing various aspects of ER/HR, such as employee relations, HR policies, and performance management. The ER Specialist is expected to possess a deep understanding of ER/HR principles and practices, maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct. Collaboration with HR partners is essential, and the role reports directly to the Employee Relations Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    • Address inbound employee relations inquiries from the AGS ER Inbox.
    • Provides consultation to AGS leaders regarding any concerns or questions including but not limited to performance, accommodations, investigations, leaves of absences, benefits, etc.
    • Proactively communicates legal risk to all parties and the potential impact of business by relying on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a strong HR background.
    • Manages strategic case load by reviewing processes and procedures while building solutions and providing solution-based decisions supported with company policies, state and federal laws, HR guiding principles, etc.
    • Utilize software tools for tracking and documenting employee relations issues.
    • Analyze and offer solutions for employee relations issues, suggesting improvements to HR policies and systems.
    • Ensure compliance with various legal and internal HR policies.
    • Handle HR policy interpretation requests and conduct internal investigations.
    • Assist the Legal and Compliance departments in addressing EEOC and compliance-related concerns.
    • Responsible for ensuring investigations are completed in a timely manner while reducing legal risk and providing consultation on potential discriminatory concerns.
    • Completes administrative tasks as required by the role.
    • All other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education, Knowledge, Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or similar field (required)
    • 2+ years of experience in general human resources or employee relations with experience working directly with managers, directors, and multiple parties (required)
    • 2+ years of experience providing HR support with multiple departments and teams (required)
    • 2+ years of experience working in or with staffing, recruitment, or contingent labor (preferred)
    • 3+ years of general administrative/coordinator support for a large-scale team (preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience working in a remote environment (preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience supporting multiple time zones and/or global operations (preferred)
    • Previous experience using Salesforce: Service Cloud or similar ticketing or ERP system (preferred)
    • HR certificate (SHRMC-CP or PHR) (preferred)

    Skills

    • Must have strong knowledge and application of FMLA, ADA, and FLSA
    • Must have strong knowledge and skills to effectively manage investigations.
    • Strong understanding and ability to use both Microsoft Suite and Google Platform
    • Must be able to be flexible and support various time zones as needed.
    • Must be able to communicate through various means of communication methods effectively and professionally.
    • Ability to independently work remote with little guidance and oversight.
    • Ability to take information in large quantities and process it to meaningful and useful data.
    • Ability to review information and assess for completion, accuracy or need for escalation.
    • General understanding of HR principles to ensure reduction of legal risks.
