    • POSITION COMPETENCY:

    • Ability to design and implement data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems; assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance, and problem solving; assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support.

    • Install, support, and maintain both physical and virtual network servers and appliances; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the Storage Area Network (SAN); establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security.

    • The ability to successfully manage/lead projects spanning across multiple departments and with a duration of up to 4 months.

    ROLE EXPECTATIONS:

    • Interact with the management of the user community to define business requirements and scope of needs.
    • Responsible for articulating complex computing issues and/or their resolutions to customers and senior management.
    • ITS system
    • Identify any systematic patterns which may require more generalized actions.
    • Respond to all support requests based on areas of responsibility and priority level accordingly.
    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
    • Project Management
    • When deemed beneficial by yourself or the VP of IT, a project outline will be created with the following items: Goal(s) of the project, required steps, required resources, analysis of risk and timeline.
    • Any project not on course to meet its goals, timelines or budget needs to be communicated to the VP of IT at time of awareness.
    • Verify the completion and integrity of daily system backups.
    • Notify VP of IT within 2 hours of critical failures that prevent a successful restore of data. • Install new/rebuild/ repair equipment per request of VP of IT.
    • Manage user accounts as directed by VP of IT.
    • Maintain company file structures and security.
    • Repair and recover hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted users.
    • Configuration, installation, and maintenance
    • Manage the Nutanix system and DR system.
    • Network infrastructure including routing and layer switching.
    • Maintenance of remote VPN connectivity.
    • Microsoft servers, including the virtual environment.
    • RF environment including the RF scan devices and access points.
    • Establishes and maintains user e-mail accounts; manages anti-spam and anti-virus servers; researches and troubleshoots e-mail problems by reviewing mail logs, records, and network configurations.
    • Make sound independent decisions which affect the daily operations and support all aspects of the organization as it relates to IT issues.
    • Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking; assists in planning, coordinating, and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support; recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services.
