Seeking an energetic and self-motivated CMA/LPN/RN for an established allergy practice in West Des Moines. Experience in working in an allergist's office is preferred but not required. A conscientious and friendly approach to patients and staff is essential. Weekday schedule is 40 hours, either 4 day 10 hour shift or 5 day 8 hour shift. In addition to a weekday schedule, you must be available to work at least one Saturday every four weeks. The successful candidate will be responsible to the following: - Answer calls/questions from patients - Assist with scheduling appointments - Inputting and updating medical history - Collect, order, and prepare lab test per physician request - Preparing and administering medication as directed by physician - Perform direct patient care, which includes taking vitals and performing various tests related to the specialty of allergic diseases and clinical immunology - Perform and document allergy injections properly - Instructing patients about medications, immunotherapy and the use of an epinephrine pen - Transmitting prescription refills and conducting prior authorization with a variety of insurance companies - Assist physician when necessary - Refill allergy trays with testing serum - Maintain confidentiality of patients and all patient care by following HIPAA regulations and company policy Requirements: - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required, possession of LPN or RN licensure by the state of Iowa Qualifications: - Show effective communication and collaboration - Ability to relate well to patients and staff - Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Strong in clinical competencies
