    Job Description

    We are seeking a Manager of Accounting to join our team and serve in a role of strategic importance to our business. In this key role, you will:

    • Be responsible for owning and building out our accounting capabilities to support the company’s growth in addition to our clinic operations which encompasses 180+ veterinary practices. Primary business areas are revenue/cash collections, sales tax, leases, bank rec and other corporate accounting functions
    • Help design more efficient processes to accumulate and reconcile data across disparate practice management systems used by the clinics
    • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures that allows the company to achieve economies of scale
    • This role requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and tact when interacting with clinics’ leadership teams and other stakeholders
    • Individual contributor at the beginning and supervisor of one later on

    Responsibilities

    • Own a cash receipts process: reconciling the cash receipts per the bank to clinic practice management systems and credit card processors and making month-end accruals for deposits-in-transit
    • Manage a third-party vendor responsible for sales and use tax returns and compliance, be an in-house expert on sales and use taxes
    • Own lease accounting both for operating and finance leases utilizing a specialized software – LeaseQuery
    • Work on bank rec automation and bank transactions posting
    • Manage corporate and clinics’ expense management programs leveraging a specialized software – Concur
    • Assists with other corporate accounting tasks
    • Assists in a month-end results review
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting in a multi-site environment
    • BA/BS/MS degree with a major in accounting
    • Advanced Excel knowledge and experience with learning new systems quickly
