We are seeking a Director of Coating Technology for a small company in Central Nebraska. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for all R & D, Quality Assurance and Customer Relations within the company. Our client is an innovator in coatings technology. They strive for efficiency, performance and to exceed customer's expectations. This stable company has been in the industry over 30 years and is looking for an entrepreneurial self-starter to make a difference for the company. The ideal candidate would relocate to Central Nebraska but would also consider someone working from a remote location and traveling to the plant a few weeks per month.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the science resource before, during and after the sale
- Evaluate and develop new technologies that add value to our customers
- Manage product development, product improvements, formulation management, regulatory and material selections
- Lead scale-up initiatives to ensure successful commercialization of new technologies
- Ensure product quality and oversee leadership of laboratory
- Interact with Sales and Customers on product selection and enhancements
- Provide technical support to operations and customers
- Approve all procedures, product formulas, and regulatory compliance actions to safeguard customers and employees
- Train, mentor, and motivate department associates
Background Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience with coatings or chemical manufacturing
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience in formulation and commercialization of new technologies
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budget, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
- Proficient with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, Power Point and database programs
