    Job Description

    Currently, the Company seeks a Technical Advisor.  Role is responsible for improving quality outcomes in the area of infection prevention by supporting the CMS task specific initiatives and deliverables for the states within the region of Alliant Quality, the QIN – QIO (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Tennessee).  Additional responsibilities are as follows:

     ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provides technical assistance, support and education to providers in order to prevent and manage healthcare acquired infections (HAI)
    • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to collaborate, develop and support infection prevention initiatives
    • Maintain understanding of the work with Antibiotic Stewardship in all settings that is to be initiated to prevent drug resistance
    • Maintain understanding and familiarity with CDC National Healthcare Safety Network data submission process (NHSN)
    • Review, understand and interpret data for quality improvement efforts
    • Represents QIN-QIO on local/state levels
    • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

     OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

    • Work in close collaboration with other team members to support the development of new      projects and continuous improvement of the overall work process within the team.

    • Demonstrate compliance with the corporate and departmental policies as evidenced by attendance, punctuality, and dress.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrated experience in healthcare Quality Improvement (QI) and the ability to motivate and lead others to provide quality services and deliverables in a timely manner, with experience with improvement of HAIs in a healthcare setting is preferred;
    • Knowledge, skills, and experience with critical-thinking, innovation, and problem-solving, recommending successful solutions, including the spread and implementation of such

     

    solutions for large scale change; excellent oral and written communication spanning from executives to general public;  

    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft (MS) Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; and Teams.
    • Ability to travel as needed driving and/or going on an airplane to Company or customer locations for meetings.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing or related healthcare field.  Must have specialty in infection prevention, a Certification Infection Control (CIC) 
    • Five years of experience in an acute or long-term care healthcare setting with understanding of the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
    • Five years progressive management experience in community projects, developing relationships and partnering with a variety of staff including professionals, state and community coalitions and stakeholders (e.g., organizers, social workers, educators); and
    • Three or more years of experience in project management, managing people, project planning and/or coordination of daily activities, data analysis, constructive reporting, quality management techniques and tools. 
    • Demonstrated experience in healthcare Quality Improvement (QI) and the ability to motivate and lead others to provide quality services and deliverables in a timely manner.

    Preferred:

    • Master’s in Public Health
    • Demonstrated experience in improvement of healthcare acquired infection (HAI) rates is preferred.
