Product Development and Packaging Associate - Commerce, CA
Allied Home is a world-leading home textile manufacturing company that is looking for the best and brightest to join our talented team at our Los Angeles headquarters. We pride ourselves on bringing the best to market, being the best place to work, and always improving. We
manufacture and sell all soft home bedding, bath, and sleep products for national retailers and direct-to-consumer digital brands.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a passionate and talented Product Development and Packaging Associate.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Work cross-functionally with internal and overseas teams to research, develop, and source innovative products that drive sales and provide competitive advantage across all channels.
- Basic knowledge of textiles and the process of product development is a must.
- Have the ability to take direction from multiple sources and understand how to communicate and prioritize workload.
- Be a quick learner, a careful communicator, and a team player.
- Thrive by working in a fast-paced environment that will keep you motivated and on your toes!
- Be able to assess and efficiently communicate market trends and complex ideas.
- Be a creative and detail-oriented person who assists with thinking outside the box to bring the best to market.
- Have a passion for product and assists with creating new and innovative products that are solution based.
- Be effective in packing products for show and shipment.
- Must have some graphics or packaging experience.
- Be proficient in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.
The Details
- Under expert guidance, work with our internal and external teams to assist in designing, spec, and bringing to market soft home products, including creating product specs, performing material reviews, and executing graphic packaging requests.
- Review product and package prototypes and provide feedback in order to improve a product or work within a production or cost constraint.
- Execute market comp shops to maintain up-to-date market knowledge of price points, key items, and trends.
- Keep detailed fabric records/library for future development.
- Aide in creating packaging layouts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in product development, sourcing, or relevant industry role specializing in textiles (home textiles preferred).
- Must be efficient in using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Must have basic MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Must be a team player with a positive outlook.
- Must be organized.
- Must be an excellent communicator.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Most importantly, must love the product development process and want to own your categories in Textiles and see them through to successful execution in stores across the world.
Work Environment:
- In office
- 5 days per week, 8 hours a day.
- Some minimal travel is required.
Physical Demands:
- Moderate standing
- Light lifting of cartons not exceeding 25 lbs.
