  • Responsibilities

    As a result of continued growth and expansion, Sedgwick is seeking Insurance Inspectors to work on an independent contractor basis to complete dwelling exterior and dwelling interior inspections. Information gathered from the survey/inspection process will be reported primarily in checklist and narrative formats and will be submitted via the internet.  The number of assignments may vary depending upon geographical location as well as individual contractor efficiency. 

    Details of position:

    • Work from home office
    • Schedule appointments with policy holders as needed
    • Drive to and conduct inspections for residential properties
    • Write up reports using personal computer
    • Determine construction classification of residential properties
    • Obtain all dwelling updates information- (repairs, modifications, upgrades, etc.)
    • Identify underwriting concerns and make recommendations for solutions
    • Obtain photographs, measurements, and occasionally sketch buildings using Home PC or Laptop with Windows 7 or newer, High Speed Internet access (utilizing Internet Explorer as the browser), digital camera, camera pole, and a measuring wheel.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    Qualified consultants possess the following:

    • Experience inspecting dwellings in any of the following capacities: insurance, real estate, mortgage
    • Thorough understanding of Property and Liability insurance coverages
    • Good communication and exceptional writing skills
    • Ability to travel within a reasonable territory
    • Ability to observe condition of residential properties to determine if hazards affecting insurance premium are adequately controlled
  • Qualifications
    • Ability to establish system information requirements using analysis during the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems
    • Ability to determine and identify high level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the user community and knowledge of the enterprise architecture
    • Ability to design architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
    • Ability to identify, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates or upgrades
    • Ability to develop high level system design diagrams
    • Ability to ensure that systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the application platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application
    • Ability to ensure that the common operating environment is compliant
    • Ability to evaluate analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
    • Ability to provide daily supervision and direction to staff

     

    Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent education/training required

    MS degree desired

     

    TS/SCI Clearance required
