Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVES:
Responsible for the financial control of the company in conjunction with the President as it relates to ensuring profitability, tracking variances that are preventing positive profits, and advising the President and management team as to where the problems exist.
The position is to ensure that all government accounting requirements are met with systems within the Allison business and that these policies and procedures support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:
- Plan, direct, coordinate and administer the accounting functions such that a business plan is established and followed to the degree controllable. Any variances from the plan is to be highlighted in such a way that the management team can make necessary changes to get the program(s) back on track.
- Prepare profit plans and objectives, capital budgets and tracking of same, accounting systems and control procedures.
- Lead, guide and direct in the areas of inventory control, payroll, taxes, costing, and communicating to all personnel from the Board of Directors to the hourly associates on a timely basis.
- Manage cash flow and debit to meet company objectives.
- Manage the IT systems through outside contractors and available in-house assistance, even through personal intervention when possible.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting or equivalent experience of 5 years minimum as controller of a similar sized industrial company. Experience in an industrial business environment is strongly preferred.
- Plan and formulate with the President and leadership team objectives and goals to be applied to performance evaluations. Ensure these are implemented effectively throughout the organization.
- Ensure the company is in compliance with all government mandated policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP standards, etc.
- Manage the financial aspect of the International component of the business. Ensure compliance with any international standards.

- Performs other duties as needed. This may include community involvement.
- Demonstrated skill in the Epicor software environment preferred. Demonstrated skill in the Oracle environment accepted.
