Large managed care company looking to fill a PART TIME Registered Dietician role for gap coverage for 1:1 nutrition consults.
Hours will vary depending on need and no set number of hours is guaranteed. Position will have both in-person and telecommute components
Work Hours-
Day shift, flexible hours, 8 am to 5 pm mostly. Evening hours are available if desired. Some Saturday coverage may be needed.
This is a registered dietitian position needed to work with patients 1:1 to provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) on a variety of topics like weight management, diabetes, kidney disease, food allergies, gastrointestinal issues, heart health, child nutrition, and others. The candidate will work independently onsite (in-person) and have opportunities to telecommute. Prefer Spanish-speaker, but not required. They will have the opportunity to converse with a team of 5 other RDs for questions and support but must have experience working with a variety of patients and conditions and be able to do so with minimal supervision. Flexible days and hours.
Responsibilities-
• Research member-related health information to prepare for appointments.
• Educate members on health and wellness information related to disease processes.
• Use motivational interviewing techniques to help member identify and understand their intrinsic goals and engage in positive behavior change.
• Educate members on health plan resources and benefits and how to access.
• Document information (e.g., assessments, member interactions, referrals, follow-up plans) in relevant computer systems.
• Fax documentation to providers following visits with members.
• Communicate needs, issues, and concerns with supervisor and scheduling supervisor as needed.
Requirements-
•Registered Dietitian through Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Licensed Dietitian in the state of Nevada.
• At least one year working experience as a registered dietitian.
• One year counseling patients of all ages on a variety of health topics like weight management, diabetes, heart health, renal disease, child nutrition, GI disorders, food allergies, etc.
• One year motivational interviewing experience.
• Ability to work independently and meet performance goals in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems including Microsoft products, and ability to learn internal software systems.
