    Description:

     

    AUTISM/APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS CARE ADVOCATE Positions in this function are responsible for utilization review of behavioral health services. Includes authorization, concurrent review, and coordination and assurance of appropriate levels of care to members. Provides member support services through provider referrals, review of benefits, and general support.

     

    EMPLOYEES IN THIS FUNCTION MUST HAVE A VALID CLINICAL LICENSE (I.E., CSW, MFCC) OR BE A BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST. Position overview

    • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements. • Review clinical information and make medical necessity recommendations • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses. • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues. • Provide Care Advocacy and support for families navigating the complexities involved with Autism Diagnosis • Facilitate member and caregiver education • Ensure caregivers understand treatment options and are effectively linked to treatment resources • Review benefits with the purpose of determining members eligibility for enhanced autism services. • Exhibit excellent customer service in engaging providers in collaborative planning. • Quote and explain benefit coverage to members and to providers. Follow appropriate benefit eligibility procedures. • Create and maintain excellent clinical records. The team the candidate will be working with: ABA clinical team, made up of licensed clinicians and board certified behavior analysts TOP RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION: -Take and Review clinical data from providers via phone to render clinical decisions on ABA care -Work with members to give provider referrals, benefit information, and other education -Work with providers to understand billing procedures and authorization process -Maintain and document within clinical systems -Work efficiently on the phone to answer and document calls What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities? Call efficiency metrics Clinical quality measures WHAT SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES ARE A MUST HAVE? • Minimum of 3 years experience working with children and families. Preference for experience with Autism Disorders • Independently Licensed Mental Health Clinician or Board Certified Behavior Analyst • Strong operational focus with demonstrated project management, change management, and execution skills. Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision and drive results with disciplined follow-though. • The candidate should be a problem solver, able to be self-directed yet also comfortable working in a highly structured environment with set schedules. Must possess strong customer service orientation. • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE A BACKGROUND OR KNOWLEDGE OF BEHAVIORAL THERAPY TECHNIQUES FOR CHILDREN, INCLUDING APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS.
