Overview:
We are seeking progressively-motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Petition Reviewer. As a Petition Reviewer, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and verifying the accuracy and validity of petitions submitted for various elections and ballot initiatives. This is a paid contractor position that offers an opportunity to contribute to the democratic process.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze petitions to ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulations
- Verify the authenticity of signatures and information provided on the petitions
- Conduct research and gather additional information as needed to validate petition claims
- Maintain accurate records of reviewed petitions and related documentation
- Collaborate with team members to resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the review process
- Provide timely updates and reports on the status of reviewed petitions
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while reviewing large volumes of information
- Experience in supervising or managing teams is a plus
- Excellent time management and multitasking capability
- Familiarity with electioneering processes, petition circulation, ballot initiatives, and regulations is desirable
- Experience with Google Suite and/or Zoom is desirable
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the democratic process while gaining valuable experience in petition review. This is a 1099 contracted position for time-sensitive work, beginning immediately. Candidates will be paid per project, with those that excel being retained for longer-term research work and additional projects. Work runs from April 2024 until at least August 2024. Pay is on the first of the month for all work completed in the previous month. Full- and part-time positions are available, with priority for full-time employees. Your own computer with stable internet access is mandatory, as well as access to Zoom and Google Drive. We are a progressive organization, so ideological alignment is a huge plus, as well as familiarity with any of the processes involved in collection, submission, and compliance related to petition gathering and review.
