    Job Description

    Our automotive manufacturing client has an immediate need for a Process Engineer.  The ideal candidate under general supervision, will define and continuously improve the processes of the body shop in order to mccl or exceed the shop's safety, quality, efficiency, and cost targets in accord with the Client's Production System

    (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position):  *Ensure process integrity through implementation of MPS.  *Monitor and evaluate existing processes to ensure the highest level of Team Member safety, production quality, and line thru-put is maintained.  *Lead problem solving activities in cross functional groups to solve process/product/system failures. Plan and prepare for product changes and their impact on process, equipment, tooling, etc.  *Manage all trials and changes impacting production safety, quality, efficiency or cost.  *Manage shop through-put by analyzing station cycle time, through-put, variant management, and Work in Process (WlP) standards.  *Assist in training for production Team Members, Team Leaders and Group Leaders on product/process changes.

    *Manage and coordinate outside contractor activities which include bid package preparation (scope of work, specifications, installation, buy-off and scheduling).  *Assist with arranging training for new technologies in conjunction with Joining Technology Engineering.  *Ensure proper level of self-sufficiency for multiple technologies in the Body Shop through classroom and hands on training.  *Review equipment and shop layout proposals/drawings for input to process capability and MPS.  *Continuously improve the performance of manned and automated stations in the body assembly area. final Iii and finish.

    EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of experience in an automated body-in-white (BiW) process assembly environment in an Engineering function.

    NECESSARY SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC.: *Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project).

    PREFERRED: AutoCAD, Catia Version 5, SAP, Vis View Version 8, Siemens NX Ability to lead cross functional problem-solving activities.  *Working knowledge of process engineering supported technologies: Kuka robotics, Perception and JSRA vision system,

    KTB3 scaler application/Quiss vision, Keyence vision system, Bosch resistance welding controllers, Emhart Stud welding Systems, Fronius MIG welders, Atlas Copco/Cooper/Apex Torque Tools.

    Additional Information

    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: (List responsibilities which are not essential but may be required)*Perform other duties as required.  *If required, work in rotating shifts, overtime, on weekends, and during shutdown periods.

     QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related area and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
